Hitting, pitching, rotation and bullpen, results and luck for every team, with ranks, league averages and percentiles.

How to read this page

Reading the table

Choose Hitting or Pitching, a season and a window. Rank (#) is run differential per game. Green is better than the league and brick-red is worse; for "allowed" numbers lower is better and the colours flip. Display → Show → Percentiles swaps every value for its percentile (100 = best). Greyed cells have less than that metric's minimum sample. Click a team for its full profile.

Luck. Expected win % is the record a team's run differential usually produces; Luck is the gap between the real record and that. One-run games swing a lot and tend to even out, so teams far from zero are worth a second look. Expected wOBA does the same for hitting: it is the result the quality of contact usually brings.

Windows. Season is every game so far. Last 15, Last 30 and Last 7 are each team's most recent games. Home and Road split by where the game was played. vs LHP and vs RHP split the team's plate appearances by the pitcher's hand; for pitching the same buttons split by the batter's side (vs LHB, vs RHB). Custom dates covers any range you choose. Every number is recomputed from the games themselves, and a window never uses a game played after its last date.

Free and members. Season and Last 15 are free for everyone. Last 30, Last 7, home and road, platoon splits and custom dates are part of Analytics, and every higher plan includes them.

The wOBA that this exit velocity and launch angle of contact usually produces, with walks and strikeouts as they happened. Far from wOBA means results ran ahead of or behind the contact. Higher is better.
Batting average (AVG)
Hits divided by at-bats. Higher is better.
On-base % (OBP)
Hits, walks and hit-by-pitches per plate appearance (sacrifice bunts left out). Higher is better.

Walk % (BB%)
Walks (intentional included) divided by plate appearances. Higher is better.

Hard-hit % (HardHit%)
Batted balls with an exit velocity of 95 mph or more, as a share of batted balls with a measured speed. Higher is better.

Batted balls hit at least 98 mph at the launch angles that most often turn into extra-base hits and home runs, as a share of batted balls. Higher is better.
Average exit velocity (EV)
Average exit velocity of batted balls, in mph. Higher is better.
Sweet-spot % (SwSp%)
Batted balls with a launch angle between 8 and 32 degrees, the range that produces the most hits. Higher is better.
Ground-ball % (GB%)
Ground balls as a share of balls in play. Neither higher nor lower is better on its own.
Fly-ball % (FB%)
Fly balls and pop-ups as a share of balls in play. Neither higher nor lower is better on its own.

Batted balls hit to the batter's pull side (left field for a right-handed hitter). Neither higher nor lower is better on its own.

Plate discipline

Chase % (Chase%)
Share of pitches outside the strike zone that the batter swung at. Lower is better.

FIP (FIP)
An ERA-scale number built only from what a pitcher controls most: strikeouts, walks, hit batters and home runs. Lower is better. Lower is better.
xFIP (xFIP)
FIP with home runs replaced by the number a league-average share of fly balls would have produced. Lower is better.
Home runs per 9 (HR/9)
Home runs allowed per nine innings. Lower is better.
wOBA allowed (wOBA allowed)
Opponents' on-base average where each walk, single, double, triple and home run counts by the runs it is worth this season, on the on-base-percentage scale. Lower is better.
Expected wOBA allowed (xwOBA allowed)
The wOBA that this exit velocity and launch angle of contact usually produces, with walks and strikeouts as they happened. Far from wOBA means results ran ahead of or behind the contact. Lower is better.

Strikeouts divided by plate appearances. Higher is better.
Walk % (pitching) (BB%)
