NHL Matchups
Every game on today's slate: both teams and their starting goalies up top, then team stats, each side's attack against the other's defence and the market, with lineups, injuries, rest and travel underneath.
Reading a game card
Goalies. Each starter comes from the G&W goalie tracker. Confirmed means the team has named its starter; Expected means he is expected to start but it is not official yet; Likely is the goalie we expect to start when nothing has been announced; Not confirmed means we have no starter yet. A goalie listed as injured or suspended is never shown as a starter. The time under each goalie is when his status last changed. His numbers sit right under his name: games played and record, save percentage (SV%), goals-against average (GAA) and goals saved above expected (GSAx) for the season, each with its rank among regular goalies (green = top third, red = bottom third). Early in the season, last season's line is shown too. Click a goalie's name for his full page.
Market. The consensus moneyline, puck line and total across US sportsbooks, where each opened and where it is now. No-vig win % is the consensus moneyline with the bookmaker's margin taken out. The full board with every book is on the odds board.
Rest & travel. Days off since each team's last game, back-to-backs, games in the last seven days, and how far the team travelled from its last game, including any change of time zone.
Team form. 5-on-5 expected-goals share (xGF%), power-play expected goals per 60 minutes, penalty-kill expected goals allowed per 60, and goal difference per game, each with its rank among the 32 teams. Last 20 is free; early in the season you can switch to last season for a full-season view.
Lines. The forward lines and defence pairs each team used most at 5-on-5 in its most recent game, from the NHL's shift charts. Until a team has played this season, its lines come from last season's final game.
Injuries. Players listed out, on injured reserve, suspended or day-to-day.
