Reading the umpire table
Each row is a home-plate umpire's games in the season. Runs per game, K% and BB% describe what happened in those games, both teams together. Accuracy is the share of taken pitches called correctly against the rulebook strike zone (pitches within an inch of the edge are left out as too close to judge). Extra strikes per game is strikes called on pitches outside the zone minus balls called on pitches inside it: positive means a bigger zone.
Umpire numbers mix the umpire with the pitchers and hitters in his games, so small samples move a lot; the table lists umpires with at least 10 games by default.
Free and members. Each season's table is free. Every season pooled and each umpire's recent game log are part of Analytics, and every higher plan includes them.
Betting records. Below the zone table, each umpire's games show how home teams did and how often the game went over the closing total, with a sample-size tag on every record. Members can split those records by day or night, home favourite or road favourite, divisional games, total bands and any range of seasons, and open each umpire's profile for overs against our own number and the game log.
